One of the guides uses his radio transmitter to locate the direction of any radio-collared Argali in the area.

Auggie, one of the community fellows, listens in on the radio for any response from the other volunteers and or team guides. Walkie talkies are very important because the groups of three or four people are very spread out.

Another focus of the project is looking for bird nests, and inspecting them to see if they are in use, or are vacant.

We come across many creatures while we are out looking for argali, like this tiny lizard in my hand.

Reading GPS is very important for both knowing exactly where you are in relation to the argali, and also finding our way back to camp.
