The day started out pretty windy. Here in this picture, Auggie our community fellow poses with his hair blowing in the breeze.

Here is the beginning of the sandstorm. The visibility now was about a few hundred feet. Notice how the visibility is very low behind the vehicle?

In this picture the sand storm had been going for over an hour, but was not at its peak.


As winds picked up during the storm, Tyler was kind of thrown around, at the mercy of the wind.

Here we were, in the heart of the storm during the storm's peak. And no, the windows of the car were not at all tinted, it looked more like Mars than Mongolia today. The outside color turned to orange and beige at times.

In the heart of the storm, a man came by with his camel. They stopped near our ger just long enough to snap a few pictures.
