Jamie scans the horizon looking for vulture nests, alongside another volunteer.

This rodent trap lays in the field, waiting for unsuspecting rodents to climb on in after the bait.

If a rodent is found in the trap, a series of measurements are taken down and later compared with previous data.


Here you are, up close and personal with the subject, a tiny rodent. Red sharpies are used to mark rodents that have been captured. This helps the scientists know if a rodent is being recaptured the next few days.

Last night these two rodents were caught in this live trap, they were quickly worked on, then released back to the wild unharmed.
