Tyler shows off a small lizard he found while trekking through the outskirts of the Gobi Desert. As you walk around from time to time, we see these little lizards scurrying away from our feet.

To the west of camp, the hills disappear, and the true Gobi Desert begins expanding out on the horizon. Many of the local herders use camels like these to round up large numbers of cattle, sheep, goats, and even horses.

We snapped a quick picture with one of the P.I.'s, Dr. Rich Reading. He was heading off to western Mongolia, to oversee the beginning of yet another argali research camp.

Jamie displays the blisters that she has gotten after 8 days of trekking over rocky and sandy terrain. She's been trying everything to make the blisters get better with no luck, so it's good we are almost finished with this project.

Jamie and community fellow Monkhbaatar (''Oogie ')' huddle together on the edge of a rock for a quick picture while waiting for some argali action. Most of the waiting for argali takes places up on a rock formation like this with good visibility.
